Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

California residents and other U.S. consumers can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information collected through Ask Legal Matters.

What does this mean?

Ask Legal Matters connects people seeking injury compensation reviews with independent attorneys and law firms. When you submit your information, we may share it with third parties in exchange for valuable consideration, such as referral fees or marketing services.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), this may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You have the right to opt out at any time.

What happens after you opt out?

  • We will stop selling or sharing your personal information with third parties for lead-generation purposes
  • Your request will be honored within 15 business days as required by California law
  • We will retain your opt-out preference for at least 12 months
  • Opting out does not affect information already shared before your request
  • You may still use our Site, but we may be unable to connect you with attorneys if we cannot share your data

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser session, where required by applicable law.

See our Privacy Policy for full details on your rights. Last updated: June 24, 2025.
